This painting was made from a photo I took of my stepsister many years ago when I got my first 35mm camera and took a photography course. The assignment was to create special effects, such as putting a stocking over the lens to create a nostalgic, soft effect, which was what I did for this photo. In the photo, however, she was posed in front of the living room wall, which was covered in flocked wallpaper (!), so for the painting I took the liberty of changing the background.
