I found this hat in Arezzo at the big open-air antiques market. I walked away from it twice, thinking I couldn't get it back home without crushing it, but at the end of the day decided I HAD to have it. And then couldn't find my way back to the booth. With minutes to spare before my parking meter ran out, I found it, bought it, got it safely home. It has featured in several self-portraits and now has its own portrait.
